A welcome.
For everyone.

Accessibility features, known limitations and ways to get help using the D&P Upholstery website.

Updated 15 October 2026

01. A website everyone can use

BEECHWOOD SOFAS LIMITED, trading as D&P Upholstery, wants people to be able to explore our work and contact the workshop in a way that suits them. We aim to improve this website towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

This is a statement of our approach and known limitations, not a claim of independently certified or complete conformance. The website has not had a full independent accessibility audit.

02. Features to help you

  • A skip link takes keyboard users to the main content.
  • Navigation, forms and key controls have text labels and visible keyboard focus.
  • Furniture comparisons have labelled sliders and Before / After buttons.
  • The layout adapts for smaller screens and browser zoom.
  • The homepage background film has a Pause / Play control and respects reduced-motion preferences. Other films play when requested.
  • Decorative sketches and icons are hidden from assistive technology; meaningful photographs have alternative text.
  • Cookie preferences can be reopened from the footer and used with a keyboard.

03. Known limitations

  • Some workshop and project films do not yet have complete captions, transcripts or audio description. Please contact us for a written explanation of a film or project.
  • Some photographs show fabrics and colour choices. Colour and texture cannot be fully conveyed on a screen; ask us about physical samples and suitable alternatives.
  • New fabric uploads, case studies and edited content depend on the author supplying clear descriptions and appropriate media alternatives.
  • External websites, your email application and browser video controls are outside our direct control.

04. Tell us what you need

If a page or form is difficult to use, call 0191 487 5017 or email info@dp-upholstery.co.uk. We can discuss your enquiry by telephone or email.

Please tell us which page you were using, what you were trying to do and the format or help you need. If useful, include your browser or assistive technology, but you do not need to disclose a diagnosis or medical information.

Workshop hours are Monday–Thursday, 7.30am–4.30pm, and Friday, 7.30am–12.30pm. If you plan to visit and have access requirements, please contact us beforehand so we can discuss the arrangements.

05. Keeping it useful

We will review reported problems and update this statement as the website changes. Accessibility work should include keyboard and screen-reader checks, mobile and zoom testing, and improving alternatives for the films.
